Entry Rationale:

When Airpoints’ customer @Shar  tweeted “wondering where the airpoints fairy lives....I could do with a few thousand right now” at 3:12 a.m. Sep 14th  little did she know what she was starting.

Air New Zealand were already participating and monitoring relevant traffic on twitter, the world’s most popular micro-blogging platform. But in responding to @Shar’s wish, they showed they really “got it”.

With the help of AIM Proximity’s designer skill an avatar and persona was created in short order. At 6.25pm on 15th September @AirpointsFairy made her twitter debut. “I have the best job! As the Airpoints Fairy I get to grant one wish a day to Airpoints members everywhere. Start dreaming.”

Her mission is best expressed in her own words “I can help grant one Airpoints wish a day for Airpoints Members. Sometimes smaller, sometimes bigger. Follow me to see what happens”.

She’s been doing this ever since at http://twitter.com/AirpointsFairy/.
